Sewing Party had ALL THE BUZZ at the Houston Show !

Sewing Party At The Houston Quilt Festival

The Houston Quilt Festival was a huge four day long quilt show held in Houston, Texas.  Just as we had participated, Sewing Party had a blasting experience and we would like to share a piece of the excitement that still remains.

The day 1 didn’t start off as we had hoped to.  On Wednesday, we spent all day setting up and feeling nervous because 30 of our cartons hadn't arrived yet!  The Preview Night was starting at 5 pm, so we were anxiously waiting for our stuff to arrive, and once they have arrived we began rushing through preparing and decorating the booth.

But "as professionals"
we managed to have everything ready to go and the night ended up successful :)

We had a surprise drop in by Kaffe Fasset and Branden Mably! They told us we were their favorite booth. Yay for us!

Things started to get hectic on Thursday due to so many people visiting our booth, and we LOVED that! Rain poured all day long, but that didn't stop anyone from having fun.  We had a lot of visitors from all over the world including Europe, South America, and so on. There were lots of foreign people who stayed during the entire show and we were thrilled to see them visit us for all 4 days.  This was a long distance trip, so seeing lots of friendly faces from California made us feel like we had friends close by and helped us feel like home.  By Friday afternoon, we had almost our entire booth sold out. We were very fortunate to have a great location just in front of escalators!

The show went on until Sunday noon, and Kaffe came in once again and told us that our booth had ALL THE BUZZ.  By Sunday night, we were all ready to come home from great exhaustion but it was worth it.  Even now we are busy sending out orders we received at the show. We are also receiving many complimentary emails from people who had visited our booth.

"..I have to say that your selection of fabrics was the best in the entire Houston festival, I went three days and everyday bought something new at your booth.."
                                                                       - Carmen Laticia Attie from Mexico

We want to thank everyone who had visited Sewing Party booth at the Houston Quilt Festival!

Celebrate your inner artist with Carrie Bloomston's palette of inspiration, COLLAGE. By using brush and ink, she's created images with scissors and paste in the spirit of a collage. The prints are bold and artful, yet whimsical and playful. Like a stack of art papers, cut-up news print, and playful hand-painted images, the designs just beg you to play. As with many modern sewers, Carrie loves to sew with words. COLLAGE is filled with letters, textures, and hipster imagery.  The newspaper print is composed of quilting- and sewing-related articles, and the essence of this line is artful and handmade. Patterns for all of Carrie's wonderful projects can be seen on her website.
